Bucurii de iarnă 1 (2018)

 

• Am scris Un alt fel de frumusețe, primul meu text religios, despre transformarea mea sufletească petrecută în urmă cu puțin timp.  Textul este în plus un omagiu adus regretatei Măicuțe Rafaela, de care nu am fost prea legată pe durata vieții ei, dar care m-a impresionat în mod cu totul minunat când a plecat de lângă noi. • Am fost cu A. la Biserica Golia, a vorbit cu noi un călugăr care o cunoștea pe A. Abia la acea vizită  am văzut în partea dreaptă o icoană cu Sf. Nectarie și m-am bucurat.

 

• Am vizitat cu A. la Muzeul Iluziilor, m-am bucurat ca un copil de tot ceea ce am văzut acolo. Mi-am cumpărat suvenirul românesc cu jocul Optilici care redă diferite iluzii optice.

 

• Faptul că am putut să-i fiu de folos M. la tema ei.

 

• Artistul finlandez Pete Revonkorpi mi-a dat acordul să realizez un powerpoint cu arta domniei sale.

 

• Am mai citit din Metamorfoza, o nuvelă fantastică a unui bloger, despre perla umană.

 

• Am fost la Octav, filmul în sine foarte previzibil și nu extraordinar, cum mă așteptam de altfel, dar m-a făcut să plâng  și să mă gândesc nonstop la vechea mea prietenă A. care acum e în București și cu care am atât de rar ocazia să mă văd. Privind prietenia celor doi băieți ajunși la vârsta senectuții mă gândeam cum am crescut amândouă împreună și cum apoi viața ne-a separat ca distanță, dar nu și sufletește.

 

• Luminițele de la intersecție( țin minte că-mi scriam tema în agendă și când scriam despre luminițe le vedeam în timp real, în timp ce scriam).

 

• Domnul care alerga cu câinele în parc.

 

• Am vorbit puțin cu E., l-am rugat să-mi dea niște sfaturi privind scrisul, dat fiind că el e jurnalist. El mi-a dat un răspuns foarte frumos: nu vreau să strivesc corola de minuni a creativității tale și m-a îndemnat să scriu cum simt și atât.

 

• Am scris textul despre Muzeul Iluziilor și l-am trimis organizatorilor cu rugămintea să-mi permită să-l vizitez din nou gratuit pentru că nu apucasem să aud toate explicațiile despre fizică. Am primit un mesaj extraordinar de la coordonatorul proiectului care a fost foarte încântat de promovarea de pe blogul meu și care mi-a spus că pot veni la muzeu de câte ori vreau și la orice oră, că va fi gratuit pentru mine și pentru prietenii mei. Mi-aș dori să-i invit pe toți oamenii care-mi sunt dragi, dar nu vreau să forțez nota.

 

• Am revăzut filmul de animație 3D Să cântăm!

 

• Am scris textul Visătorului îi stă bine cu visul, prima parte, de care draga mea dragă A. a fost f încântată, mi-a spus că a inspirat-o în realizarea unei lecții cu copiii. Nu pot decât să mă bucur că-i sunt de folos. • Scriu din ce în ce mai repede.

 

• Am scris a doua parte a textului despre arta lui Pesare.

 

• Am fost cu Mama la Muzeul iluziilor, nu a surprins-o mai nimic, semn că draga de ea îmbătrânește, din păcate. Prezentarea ghidului D.C., a vorbit despre experimente din domeniul fizicii într-o manieră kid friendly. Am cumpărat un glob cu constelații.

 

• Mi-am luat colac cu afine și vanilie, o minunăție!

 

• Acasă m-am chinuit să asamblez globul, mi-a luat ceva, când mai era puțin și abandonam mi-a venit o altă idee și l-am finalizat( Sigur a fost intervenția lui Doamne acolo, că eu eram prea praf să mai am idei de o nouă abordare). De obicei când sunt pe punctul de a abandona un proiect mă gândesc la desenul cu căutătorul de diamante care abandonează lucrul tocmai când era la un pas de a le descoperi.

 

• Muzică.

 

• Mi-am cumpărat o cărticică despre Iertare, scrisă de Monahul Pimen Vlad.

 

• Am fost la Serile Talpalari, bucuroasă de prezența Părintelui și a Talpalarilor. Sufletul mi s-a adăpat cu cuvintele Părintelui. Am reținut ideea să fim atenți la ce cuvinte folosim, căci ele au puterea de a se întrupa. Am învățat asta pe pielea mea acest lucru într-un mod nedorit. Bine mai spunea Oscar Wilde, că atunci când zeii vor să ne pedepsească ne împlinesc dorințele. De asemenea, Părintele a vorbit despre un Iisus necunoscut celor mai mulți dintre noi, care a trudit din greu ca tâmplar și a fost un sprijin de nădejde mamei Sale după moartea lui Iosif.

 

• Ce sentiment fain am avut când am ieșit din biserică și afară ningea atât de frumos! Orașul nins – o splendoare vizuală!

 

• Ajunsă în stație mi-am spus „dacă vine repede tramvaiul o să fie o minune”. Și a venit imediat!

 

• Am început să citesc din cărticică din tramvai, nu mai aveam răbdare până acasă.

 

• Când am ajuns aproape de casă, în parc erau f mulți copii care se jucau în zăpadă, erau mulți tineri care se bulgăreau, era o atmosferă atât de frumoasă! Se simțea în aer o vibrație așa de înaltă de la bucuria oamenilor! Parcă uitase toată lumea de gadgeturi. Uite cum normalitatea a ajuns să ne mire!

Let the Dreamer Dream: the Art of Pete Revonkorpi aka Pesare(2)

In Pesare’s art, there are many drawings with the Crescent and the stars.

In Daddy, Bring me the Moon, a little girl’s father climbs up a stair to reach for the Moon and give it to her little girl. The artist chooses such a nice way to say that the little girl’s father fulfills her all wishes!

 

In other works  in which there are stars, we can see characters sitting on a crescent, posh gentleman clinging to The Moon or a starry night in the shape of a cat . A young girl in my class wants to know why is the artist drawing the stars and The Moon that often.

 

In other drawings we can see a lot of people and animals that are sleeping. I show the kids the cat, the sheep and the lion that sleep and I also show them the shape of the lion’s dreams( that of sheep). A boy is amazed to see that the lion dreams cloudy sheep as he thought lions dream about human meat.

 

On another slide one can see characters that are flying up away. Some of them have a book in their hand. S. believes that the message the artist conveys in these works is that when you read a book you cannot stop, while V. believes that the characters read fairy tales about people who can fly. V. has another interpretation about these works as well, that reading makes people fly. As I already know, V. genuinely feels the enjoyment, engagement and freedom released by reading as he is one of the few children with an inner motivation to read.

 

I also speak with the kids about some recurrent objects from Pesare’ s art, like the ladder used by his characters to reach the sky, or the umbrella that has several uses in his work: it not only protects from rain, but it can also help the characters fly or it helps flowers to grow.

 

In another slide one can see some arts like painting, music or poetry. The last one is suggested by the illustration When she writes her poems, accompanied by Pesare’s poem:

It always snows
when she writes her poems.
And so the town’s people cried: 
Why? Why must she write
such snowy lines? 
Can’t she see
that we will freeze? And why
can’t she write about the sun and the birds
and a warm summer breeze?
Or why won’t she stop
writing all together?
She should think about others
who don’t like this kind of weather.
She should, but she won’t,
and it always snows
when she writes her poems…

In his turn, S. speaks about the feminine character in a very poetical manner and calls her Lady-Cloud.

I end this activity asking the children: in which of  the illustration they looked at  today they wanted to live and what characters they wanted to live as? Here are their answers:

 I would like to live in the image showing a boy who rides a puppy and fights a dragon. (Ș)

I would like to live in the image showing the girl who has butterflies in her hair.(D)

I would like to live in the image showing the man playing the violin.(Ș)

I would like to be the dreaming lion because I like lions, especially that adorable one. I would also like to enter the granny’s world  from Knitter because I wish it was snowing in Romania as well. (S.)

I would like to live in the painting showing the lady with the houses because there it snows very often. I would like to be the boy that flies with the book in his hands. (V.)

I would like to live in the image showing the giraffe, the monkey, the elephant because I love animals and I like to look after them. (F.)

I wonder what will the artist say about the kids’ answers as I plan on translating this article into English and sending it to him.

Mr Pete Revonkorpi was very kind to answer the question a young girl in my class asked about his art. Here is his answer:

Why I draw stars so much? Well, whatever I draw I always feel like I’ve been there. That’s one of the most important reasons why I draw anything, that while I draw I get to visit that world that I’m drawing. The real world disappears, and only the drawing exists. And so, when I’m drawing the stars I get to visit the stars. I get to fly around in space like an astronaut! That was always one of my dreams when I was a little boy, and this is the closest I can get to the real thing. And in some ways it is even better than the real thing, because by drawing I can go anywhere. I can visit any star I want. I can live in any world I want.

In addition, the artist has a message for the children from my class: you can tell the kids I liked reading their thoughts a lot. 🙂

Let the Dreamer Dream: the Art of Pete Revonkorpi aka Pesare(1)

How should I prepare myself to speak to the children about Pete Revonkorpi’ s art?  I guess the best way to do this is to get some sleep, a sleep full of dreams, because the artist’s world is populated by all sorts of characters who are either getting ready to sleep or sleeping already. In his art you will also find all kinds of artists (painters, poets, musicians), gardeners, fishermen or sailors.

After a good night’s sleep, in which I was a dreamer like many of Pesare’s characters,  I went to see the kids  to tell them about this 37-year-old Finnish artist who illustrates book for children and was kind enough to allow me to create a powerpoint presentation about his art.

I show the children the first slide, that with The Twins, inspired by da Vinci’s La belle ferronnière. A boy(V.) and a girl( D.) immediately recognize Leonardo’s painting from my previous lessons.

I ask the children to notice the resemblances and the differences between the twins. According to F. one is brighter than the other. The reason F. reached this conclusion is the fact that the former has a green tree in her head, while the latter has a leafless tree. Another child (V.) notices that one shows her finger to the other, as if the first one were guilty of something.

I show them that the lady on the left has a ring, while the lady on the right is pointing her index finger towards her twin’s ring. What does this mean? That one is married and the other is not and the not married one wishes to be married and is envious of the married one(according to S.). Another kid believes that one of the twins has six fingers. 🙂

The next slide about the Grown Ups shows us several characters with their head dug in the ground and their feet in the air, in a snowing, dull background. Their gloomy clothes suggest that the adults lost the imagination and creativity typical to children and aren’t able to enjoy the snow like children do. This image is so different from that called Snowflakes in which a little girl thinks that the snowflakes take the shape of ballerinas! One of the children from my class thinks that the grown ups in the second slide have died. In a way, he is right. Pesare’s adults seem more like living dead.

 

In the slide about the Knight, S. sees a kid in his garden, riding a puppy. S. gives another interpretation of the drawing as well, that the kid dreams because he has pyjamas and the Moon can be seen in the background. Two children start to argue about the dragon. One of them thinks there is no dragon at all in the picture, but a dinosaur, because if it had been a dragon it would have had wings. The other child  thinks that the dragons’wings are behind the castle. V. even thinks that the captive princess shouts: “Heeelp! Save me from this dragon!”

 

In Fishing from a Paperboat, V. sees four children. According to him, three of them have fishing rods and fish a book, a tyre and a painter’s palette. We  argue a little about the tyre,  I believe it is a camera, but I am not sure. My interpretation of the picture is that we see the fishers of the arts in it, each child is fishing for the art that he/she will later practice. The Head teacher has his own interpretation of the image,  that we can see some kids who are at the beginning of their lives and who choose the field they will latter approach. As for S., he shares with us his ecological approach, that people threw a lot of garbage in the water and that these four children try to fight against pollution.

 

Analysing the girl from Going to Sleep, a girl (D.) thinks she resembles Rapunzel and that she carries a suitcase full of toys. As for Morning, F. thinks that the girl awakens from the world of the dreams and that the flowers at her feet suggest she had a nice dream.

 

After analysing all these pictures I show the kids two of Pesare’ s works that inspired me to write two poems. One of them is Knitter, which was the starting point in writing the poem The Little Knit Slippers Are Ready! and the other one is Dreamwalker, which made me write the text Aspiration.

Visătorului îi stă bine cu visul:arta lui Pesare (1)

Cum să mă pregătesc să le vorbesc copiilor despre arta lui Pete Revonkorpi(Pesare)? Cum altfel decât printr-un somn bun, plin de vise, căci lumea lui e populată de tot felul de personaje care se pregătesc să doarmă sau care sunt deja cufundate în somn, dar și de artiști( pictori, poeți, muzicieni), grădinari, pescari sau navigatori.

După o noapte în care am împărtășit cu personajele lui Pesare statutul de visător cu acte-n regulă, merg la cei mici să le vorbesc despre acest artist finlandez de 37 de ani care ilustrează cărți pentru copii și care a avut amabilitatea să-mi permită să realizez un powerpoint despre lucrările domniei sale.

Prima planșă pe care le-o arăt copiilor este cea cu gemenele inspirate de Frumoasa soție de fierar pe care un băiat( V.) și o fată (D.)o recunosc imediat.

Îi invit pe copii să observe asemănările și deosebirile dintre cele două femei gemene. Potrivit lui F. una e mai deșteaptă și alta mai puțin deșteaptă, având ca argument diferența între copacul verde și cel uscat. Un alt copil (V.) observă că una arată spre cealaltă, de parcă ea ar fi vinovată de ceva.

Le arăt inelul de pe deget al femeii din stânga și faptul că cea din dreapta își îndreaptă degetul arătător către inelul celei din stânga. Ce ar însemna aceasta? Că una e măritată și alta nu și cea care nu e măritată ar vrea să fie și ea și are ciudă pe cealaltă (S.) Unui alt copil i se pare că una dintre gemene are șase degete. 🙂

Planșa următoare numită Adulții arată mai multe personaje cu capul în pământ și cu picioarele în aer, într-un decor tern, în care ninge. Hainele mohorâte sugerează că adulții și-au pierdut imaginația și creativitatea copiilor și că sunt incapabili să se mai bucure de ninsoare ca aceștia. Ce diferență e între această imagine în care ninge și cea numită Fulgi de zăpadă, de exemplu, în care o fetiță își imaginează că fulgii iau forma unor balerine! Unul dintre copii e chiar de părere că adulții din planșa a doua au murit. Într-un fel cel mic are dreptate, Adulții lui Pesare sunt un fel de morți în viață.

În planșa Cavalerul , S. vede un  un copil care e în grădina lui, călare pe un cățel sau care visează pentru că văd că este în pijamale și în desen este și o lună.  Doi copii încep să se contrazică în privința dragonului. Unul e de părere că nu e vorba de niciun dragon, ci de un dinozaur, pentru că nu are aripi, alt copil crede că aripile dragonului sunt după castel. V. își imaginează chiar și o replică a prințesei captive: ajutooor! Scapă-mă de acest dragon! 

În Pescuitul dintr-o barcă de hârtie, V. vede patru copii, dintre care trei au undițe și pescuiesc o carte, o vioară, o roată, un creion și o paletă de pictor.  Eu sunt de părere că unul dintre pescari prinde un aparat foto, nu o roată și că în această ilustrație îi vedem pe pescarii artelor, fiecare pescuind arta pe care o va practica.  Domnul director vine cu propria interpretare, că în desen sunt niște copii la început de drum care își aleg un domeniu pe care-l vor aborda ca adulți: unul va picta, altul va scrie, altul va cânta la vioară. La rândul său S. vine cu o viziune ecologică,  că oamenii au aruncat multe gunoaie în apă, iar acești patru copii au încercat să lupte împotriva poluării.

Analizând fata din Mersul la culcare, o fetiță, D., e de părere că aceasta seamănă cu Rapunzel și că are un geamantan plin cu jucării, iar despre lucrarea Dimineața, F. spune că fata se trezește din lumea viselor, și că florile de la picioare sunt un indiciu că ea a visat frumos.

Și dacă tot am vorbit despre vise și visuri, îi întreb pe copii dacă știu să facă distincția între sensul celor două cuvinte. V. spune că  visuri înseamnă ce vrei să te faci, ce vrei să se întâmple în viitor și că visele sunt proiectări imaginare ale creierului.(!)

 

După analiza ilustrațiilor individuale le arăt două lucrări de-ale lui Pesare care m-au inspirat în scrierea a două poezii. Una dintre ele este Knitter, care a fost punctul de plecare al poeziei Ciorăpeii-s gata!, și cealaltă e Dreamwalker, care m-a determinat să scriu textul  Aspirație:
